Employers who are subject to workplace injury and illness data reporting must submit OSHA form 300A online by March 2. This reporting regulation applies to:
- All California employers with 250 employees or more at any point during the calendar year.
- California employers with 20 or more employees in any of the more than 50 specific industries identified on page 8 of the regulation.
Employers subject to the reporting regulation should have submitted their Form 300A data covering calendar year 2017 to the Federal OSHA Injury Tracking Application by December 31, 2018. The March 2, 2019, deadline is for 2018 data.
As a result of this change, you may want to offer your clients a friendly reminder of the reporting requirement and upcoming due date.
