Welcome to the first 2019 edition of State Fund Today! As we begin the new year, I’d like to share with you some of the exciting things we’re working on in the year ahead.
For some time now, we’ve been working diligently to improve the experience you have when working with us. We want it to be easier for you to conduct business and we want to better serve your clients. A recent example of the progress we’ve made this year is reflected in our Claims Management results for 2018. Our Claims Adjusters now specialize in specific areas of claims handling which has resulted in faster claims closure, reduced time loss days, and a significantly reduced opioid drug spend. If State Fund had a theme for 2019, it would be innovation. We are working very hard this year to improve our technologies and empower our employees with the authority and systems they need to work with you to produce outstanding results. We want to be your carrier of choice, and 2019 will be a big year in terms of moving us closer to achieving that goal.
Here are some of the developments we’re looking forward to introducing this year:
Innovation Design Center
The creation of an Innovation Design Center within State Fund’s Enterprise Project Management Office will drive State Fund toward a more tech-agile business environment. A small team of dedicated staff will focus on improving customer experiences, finding better service solutions, and creating an innovation pipeline for the organization.
Enhanced Online Services
We are making improvements to our policy administration technology. Later this year we will roll out the first phase in which you will see a simplified quoting process and have the ability to electronically bind coverage for new business. The new platform will allow us to increase the speed of improvements over time such as additional improvements in the billing experience, payment options, and policy servicing.
New Safety and Health Services Approach and Website
We’re starting off the year with a redesigned safety website. The site brings accident prevention programs, loss prevention tools, safety information, streaming videos, and training together in one place to raise safety awareness among employers and help them realize the benefits of a safer workplace. Over the next three years, we will expand our safety servicing platform in order to maximize our impact on improving workplace safety in California to further reduce injuries and bring down costs for your clients.
